Sustainable Design

Ecologically Sustainable Development, or ESD, is a rapidly growing, increasingly relevant issue to which the property industry must adapt and to which Lend Lease is fully committed. It is also very complex, demanding a high degree of collaboration to capture synergies and ensure integration for cost effectiveness and operational simplicity.

A high level of technical expertise and project experience also is required to produce solutions that achieve measurable outcomes. Lend Lease design’s range of skills and depth of knowledge give us the ability to think holistically and to perform detailed analyses. Lend Lease design is able to combine local understanding with international perspective to produce an optimal result. Its experience supports all development phases, from project definition through to construction, occupancy and verification.

Services are tailored to suit the client’s aspirations and the project’s opportunities. They include: performance benchmarking, project peer review, energy, thermal and daylight modelling, materials eco efficiency assessments, workshop development and facilitation, technical support and advice for successful implementation of recommendations.

Community engagement is becoming increasingly relevant for all sectors of society and should be an integral component of any project. Lend Lease design’s experience has shown that by engaging communities in the decision making process a better outcome is achieved by all parties. Involvement is always based on an atmosphere of transparency and trust.

This collaborative approach can be applied to all projects including residential, retail and commercial. Lend Lease design’s services range from assisting with initial stakeholder analysis and strategy development to engaging with key stakeholders to collaboratively address challenges.

Stakeholders can include local residents, businesses, employees, all levels of government, educational institutions and local agencies.
